User Disclosure Statement

Effective May 6, 2026

Before you begin

This page tells you, in plain language, how ready1.ai works and what it is not. We want you to know what you are using before you use it. The full Terms of Use and Privacy Disclosures explain the legal details. This statement is meant to be read first.

1. You are talking to AI, not a human.

ready1.ai is an artificial intelligence platform. The conversations you have on this Platform are generated by AI software. They are not conversations with a human counselor, sponsor, therapist, doctor, or peer. We will remind you of this every time you begin a conversation, every time you return after a break of more than seven days, and any time you ask. You can ask the Platform whether you are talking to a human at any point, and it will answer honestly.

2. ready1.ai is a bridge to human support, not a replacement for it.

Recovery is something people do with other people. ready1.ai exists to help you reflect, prepare, and find your way to human support, including peer recovery communities, sponsors, counselors, and licensed professionals. The Platform is designed to lower the barrier to that next step. It is not designed to be the destination. ready1.ai is not a medical provider, a licensed therapist, a treatment program, a crisis line, or an emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

3. In an emergency, do not use ready1.ai.

ready1.ai is not monitored in real time. If you are in danger, in crisis, thinking about suicide, experiencing an overdose, or facing imminent harm to yourself or someone else, please reach out to a human right now:

Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
Call 911 or your local emergency services
Call SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357)

If our system detects language suggesting that you may be considering self-harm or in crisis, we will offer you these resources within the conversation. Whether you reach out is your choice.

4. Your account is designed to be anonymous.

We know that for many people in recovery, privacy is not a preference but a precondition. Being seen using a recovery tool can carry real consequences with family, employers, courts, licensing boards, or immigration status. We designed ready1.ai with that reality in mind.

What we do not ask for at sign-up:

Your real name
Your email address or phone number
Government identification
Information that links your account to anyone else in your life

You choose a username. You choose a password. That is the whole sign-up. No anonymity system is perfect. We will never claim it is. But minimizing what we collect is the most reliable way to protect you, and it is the standard we hold ourselves to.

5. What we do collect, and why.

To run the Platform safely, we collect a limited set of information:

The conversations you have with ready1.ai, so the Platform can respond meaningfully and so we can review safety incidents if they occur
Basic technical information about your device and browser, used to keep the Platform working and to detect fraud or abuse
Approximate geolocation derived from your network address, used to suggest local resources when you ask for them

We do not sell your information to advertisers or data brokers. We do not run an advertising business. We do not use what you tell ready1.ai to market other products to you.

6. If your access is sponsored, here is what your sponsor sees.

Some users reach ready1.ai through an employer, union, healthcare system, school, court, or community organization. Where that is the case, the sponsoring organization may receive aggregate, anonymized information about overall usage of the Platform, such as how many people in their group used it during a given period. Sponsors do not receive your username, your conversations, or any information that identifies you as an individual. The exceptions are narrow: where we are required by a lawful court order, where the law obligates disclosure, or where disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent serious harm. We will resist disclosure beyond those narrow circumstances.

7. AI has real limits. Please know them.

ready1.ai uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI systems can:

Misunderstand what you mean
Produce information that sounds confident but is incomplete or wrong
Miss serious context that a human would catch
Generate responses that do not match your situation

AI does not have lived experience, professional licensure, or clinical judgment. Use what is helpful. Question what is not. Do not rely on the Platform as your sole source of guidance for decisions that matter.

8. ready1.ai may not be suitable for some minors.

ready1.ai was designed primarily for adults navigating substance use, behavioral health, and recovery questions. The Platform discusses topics, including addiction and emotional distress, that may not be appropriate for all minors. Parents and guardians should review this Disclosure and the Terms of Use before allowing a minor to use the Platform. If we know that a user is a minor, we will provide additional reminders during use that the Platform is AI and not human, and we will encourage breaks during extended sessions.

9. Your rights, and how to use them.

You can ask us, at any time, to:

Tell you what categories of information we have collected from your account
Delete your account and the conversations associated with it
Correct information that is inaccurate, where applicable

Although nonprofit organizations are not always covered by every provision of California privacy law, Recovery Companion Foundation Inc. extends these rights as a matter of practice. Contact us at ezra@therecoverycompanion.org to make a request.

10. A few things worth keeping in mind.

This Disclosure is for your information. It is meant to help you understand what ready1.ai is and is not before you decide to use it. As you go forward:

Remember that ready1.ai is AI software, not a human, and not a medical, clinical, or emergency service
If you are in crisis, please reach out to a human, including 911 or 988, before turning to the Platform
Use ready1.ai as a step toward human support, not as a replacement for it

The Terms of Use and Privacy Disclosures, available separately, govern your use of the Platform. If you have questions about anything in this document, write to us.
